Kennedy Van der Laan has advised the Swedish listed company Nolato AB on the acquisition of Unitron, a Dutch innovative medical technology Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) with annual sales of approximately SEK 200 million.
The transaction strengthens Nolato's Medical Solutions business area and expands its capabilities across the medical product development and manufacturing value chain.
Founded in 1988, Unitron has more than three decades of experience in the development, industrialisation and manufacturing of medical technology products. The company serves customers across various therapy areas and supports clients throughout the product lifecycle, from early-stage development to commercial manufacturing. Unitron employs more than 100 professionals across its operations in the Netherlands and North America.
According to Nolato, the acquisition enhances its ability to offer end-to-end solutions by combining Unitron’s expertise in medical product development and complete product solutions with Nolato’s capabilities in electromechanical devices and global manufacturing. The transaction is part of Nolato’s broader growth strategy to strengthen its offering within the medical technology and electronics sectors through targeted acquisitions. Following completion of the transaction, the business will continue under the name Nolato Unitron and will be led by the current management team.
