Chambers and Partners heeft haar rankings voor 2019 gepubliceerd. Op basis van uitgebreid onafhankelijk en objectief onderzoek, dat zij uitvoert in de markt en onder cliënten, stelt Chambers and Partners jaarlijks een lijst samen van toonaangevende advocatenteams per rechtsgebied.
We presenteren met trots onze behaalde resultaten. In 'Data Protection', 'Information Technology' en 'Media' hebben we wederom Band 1 behaald.

TMT: Data Protection – Band 1
Outstanding practice covering all aspects of data protection. They undertake non-contentious compliance mandates as well as contentious regulatory matters. Hester De Vries is "an authority" on data protection in the Netherlands, according to one interviewee who elaborates: "Her contacts with the data protection authority are valuable and she knows how to identify and downsize risks." She predominantly handles advisory and compliance matters.
TMT: IT and IT Outsourcing – Band 1
Outstanding practice covering all aspects of IT and IT Outsourcing. They frequently handle IT infrastructure outsourcings for multinational corporate entities, with additional experience in disputes flowing from breaches of service contracts. Joost Linnemann is an experienced practitioner, known for his varied work in IT and outsourcing. Clients praise him for "coming up with new ideas and connecting us with other companies going through the same types of innovation processes." Patrick Wit is well known among market commentators for his advice on IT agreements. He has experience in cross-border outsourcings for international clients.
TMT: Media – Band 1
Outstanding practice covering all aspects of media. They benefit from a varied clientele of publishers, newspapers, broadcasters and digital media companies to attract roles on a range of often highly publicised disputes. Christien Wildeman acts for broadcasters, newspapers and publishers in media disputes before Dutch and European courts. She has experience in cases that test the relationship between defamation, privacy and freedom of expression. Jens van den Brink acts for a diverse client roster consisting of publishing and social media companies. His prowess in defamation mandates is emphasised by commentators, one source calling him "the perfect lawyer for freedom of speech." "He's very quick in understanding the issues and gives practical advice," states another interviewee.
Insurance – Band 2
Established name in the insurance market with particular strength in relation to claims matters. Covers the full scope of insurance services, with expertise in D&O and professional indemnity cases, product recall, and personal injury claims. Actively involved in W&I insurance, including policy drafting, as well as housing a dedicated insurance regulatory practice. Frequently instructed by prominent Dutch and international insurers, as well as other multinational companies. Often handles construction-related matters.
Employment – Band 3
Distinguished employment team with a strong footprint in sectors including consumer goods, technology and financial services. Has a distinguished reputation for its representation of both employers and works councils in the area of employee participation. Advises on ongoing employment law issues arising for major global clients. Assists with collective dismissals, the transfer of employees and privacy matters.
Healthcare – Band 3
Represents clients in medical liability claims and disciplinary cases, as well as advising health institutions on mergers, joint ventures and investments in the healthcare sector. Additionally advises on governance and compliance mandates. Also acts on matters of confidentiality and data protection. Further experience advising start-ups on the establishment of their business in the Netherlands.
Intellectual Property – Band 4
Notable anti-counterfeiting practice offering vast experience in the fashion sector. Acts for a range of technology and media clients on software, trade mark and licensing disputes. Also active on performing rights litigation in relation to the public broadcast of copyright content and royalties disputes. Vodafone is a significant new client for the department.
Competition and European Law – Band 4
Notable team with a developing presence in the market, offering expertise across a broad range of EU and competition law matters, including state aid and merger control, in addition to regulatory work, compliance and litigation. Advises national and multinational clients, with a focus on large Dutch banks and is experienced handling competition matters related to fintech.
