Erik specialises in legal information security issues and helps clients in navigating in all stages of cyber risk management. He advises clients on compliance with cybersecurity regulations (such as the GDPR, NIS2, DORA and CRA).

As an incident responder and breach counsel, Erik assists clients on a daily basis in the (crisis) management of a wide variety of cyber incidents, such as ransomware, invoice fraud and cyber espionage. He also guides clients through the legal aftermath of an incident, such as investigations and enforcement actions by regulatory bodies and civil damage claims.

In addition, Erik is active as a member of the Cyber Technical Committee at the Trade association for the Dutch co-insurance market VNAB.
