Erik is gespecialiseerd in juridische vraagstukken rondom informatiebeveiliging en staat cliënten bij in alle fasen van cyberrisicomanagement. Hij adviseert cliënten over de naleving van cybersecuritywetgeving (zoals de AVG, NIS2, DORA en CRA).

Als zogeheten incident responder en breach counsel staat Erik dagelijks cliënten bij in het (crisis)management van uiteenlopende cyberincidenten, zoals ransomware, factuurfraude en cyberspionage. Ook begeleidt hij cliënten in de eventuele juridische nasleep van een incident, zoals onderzoek en handhaving door toezichthouders en de afwikkeling van schadeclaim.

Daarnaast is Erik actief als lid van de technische commissie Cyber bij de VNAB (Vereniging Nederlandse Assurantie Beurs).
