Recently, Kennedy Van der Laan (team: Gaby Heere and Ward Peters) assisted the restaurant Inter Scaldes in the successful completion of the participation of Jeroen and Sanne Achtien. Jeroen Achtien worked in the Swiss Restaurant Sens for four years, where he earned two Michelin stars. He is regarded as one of Europe’s upcoming culinary talents. The goal of Jeroen and Sanne is to keep up their star level at Inter Scaldes.
Early this year, Pillows Hotels, a division of Amerborgh International N.V., took over the restaurant ‘Inter Scaldes’, also known as ‘the Pearl of Zeeland’. Since 1968 the restaurant has been located in a former residence of the Royal Military Police in Kruiningen, Zeeland. The restaurant was named after its location in Kruiningen, Zeeland, in between the rivers Westerschelde and Oosterschelde. ‘Inter Scaldes’ means ‘Between the Scheldts’ in Latin. This is also the only restaurant in the Netherlands that has its own helicopter landing pad.
