Kennedy Van der Laan has advised M2M B.V. ("M2M"), the parent company of security and life safety brands M2M Services, Alula, Uplink and SecureNet, on an investment from Atlantic Park, General Atlantic’s strategic capital platform. The transaction provides M2M with long term growth capital to support its continued international expansion, product development and acquisition strategy. Founder and CEO Peter Tzvetkov will continue to lead the business following completion of the transaction.
Founded in 2008, M2M has grown into a leading platform within the professional security and life safety sector. Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the group has built a global presence serving professional alarm companies across more than 50 countries. Its portfolio includes several well known brands active in alarm communications, remote monitoring and connected security solutions.
Our team advised M2M throughout all stages of the transaction, including transaction structuring, the negotiation of the investment documentation, and the implementation of the financing arrangements. The matter required close collaboration with advisers across multiple jurisdictions and disciplines to align the investment structure with the commercial objectives of the parties. The transaction also formed part of M2M's broader strategy of accelerating growth through continued product innovation, international expansion and targeted acquisitions.
The Kennedy Van der Laan team was led by Jan-Berend Möller (Corporate / M&A) and further consisted of Lukas Suijkerbuijk, Maurits Wismeijer and Nelly Wisse (Corporate / M&A), Bart de Man, Jeroen Postma and Marleen Anneveld (Banking), and Martijn van Bemmel and Daan van Lier (Competition).
This transaction demonstrates Kennedy Van der Laan's ability to advise on complex cross border investment transactions involving tailored financing solutions alongside traditional M&A workstreams. The matter combined elements of private capital, corporate structuring and financing, requiring an integrated approach across multiple legal disciplines. By leveraging our multidisciplinary platform, we were able to support M2M in securing a strategic partner to help drive the next phase of its international growth.
