Samantha d'Azevedo
Samantha is a senior associate in the Litigation & Arbitration team. She specializes in civil procedural law, commercial (IT) contracts and private international law. Samantha assists national and international clients in complex disputes, often involving significant commercial interests. She does this inter alia by conducting settlement negotiations, performing complex fact-finding, representing clients in Dutch and English before government courts (including the Netherlands Commercial Court) and in arbitration (e.g. at the ICC, the NAI and the SGOA) and enforcing judgments in the Netherlands and abroad by levying attachments and taking other enforcement measures.
The disputes Samantha handles relate to a wide range of sectors and topics, including:
- the automotive industry (e.g. class actions and the distribution and supply of car parts);
- digital marketing (e.g. email marketing, link building and search engine optimization);
- the energy transition (e.g. electric charging stations and wind turbines);
- the healthcare industry (e.g. clinical research and IT systems in healthcare, such as electronic patient records and other medical software);
- information technology (e.g. failed automation and implementation projects, and licensing issues);
- sports marketing (e.g. sponsorship contracts for athletes and sports clubs); and
- the food industry (e.g. baby food, vitamins and minerals).
Aside from dispute resolution, Samantha regularly advises on the eIDAS Regulation, with a focus on electronic signatures. Samantha has published several articles on this subject:
