Hanne van 't Klooster
Hanne van ’t Klooster specialises in venture capital and corporate M&A, with a strong focus on advising venture capital funds and companies on investment rounds and the acquisition of growth financing. She advises both early-stage start-ups in seed rounds and (late-stage) scale-ups in subsequent funding rounds. She has extensive experience in transactions within the technology and impact sectors, where entrepreneurship and societal value creation intersect. Her focus is on technology- and impact-driven companies, with broad experience across areas including clean tech, bio- and health tech, fintech, and next-generation enterprise technology.
From her area of expertise, Hanne advises both national and international investors, scale-ups and established companies throughout different stages of growth and transition. She regularly acts on both the investor and company side and is a trusted sparring partner for founders, shareholders and management teams. Thanks to her international background, including her role as Head of the London office at Van Doorne, she is well versed in cross-border transactions and complex international structures.
Clients describe Hanne as sharp, approachable and solution-oriented. She combines in-depth legal expertise with strong commercial insight, while never losing sight of the broader context. Hanne thinks in opportunities, connects people and interests, and guides clients calmly and decisively through complex processes. This enables her clients to make well-considered decisions and move confidently into their next phase of growth.
Hanne studied Law and Sociology at Utrecht University and Vrije Universteit and obtained her Master’s degree in Private Law, partly at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She completed the Law Firm School and is an active member of the Association Internationale de Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) and its M&A Community. Within the firm, Hanne is also committed to themes such as diversity and inclusion, and to exploring how technology and impact can contribute to sustainable value creation.
