Profile
Astrid specializes in IT law. She advises both suppliers and customers in IT projects, including procurements, and in drafting and negotiating various IT contracts, including in the Artificial Intelligence and FinTech domain. Astrid also litigates in disputes concerning IT contracts, failed IT implementations, and IP infringements of software. Besides, Astrid represents clients in innovative projects concerning the Energy Transition, in particular with regard to grid congestion.
Background
Astrid graduated from Groningen University in 2008 (cum laude) and during her master studies she also studied at McGill University, Montreal. Before she joined Kennedy Van der Laan, she worked at two big Dutch law firms and an Amsterdam niche firm. Astrid completed the VIRA/Grotius post-graduate specialisation course in Information Law. She is a member of the editorial board of IT&Law (IT&Recht) and AI Forum. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Information Technology Lawyers (VIRA), the Dutch Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR), the Association of AI Lawyers (VAI-A) and the Dutch Association for Energy Law (NeVER).
