Increase rates 2026

Dear Sir/Madam,

With effect from 1 January 2026, Kennedy Van der Laan is increasing its fees to compensate for rising costs. The adjustment is separate from any increase in individual lawyers' standard fees based on experience years. 

There are several reasons for this increase. Firstly, our clients rightly make high demands on us in terms of information security. As a result, we have been facing higher costs in recent years. The investments in technical and organisational resilience against cyber risks are high.

Furthermore, the demands on us in terms of compliance are also higher than in the past. Clients, regulators and society require us to comply with laws and regulations and act in line with client policies in areas such as sustainability, CO2 emissions, diversity and inclusion, and human rights. Of course we are happy to do so, but acting in line with these tightened regulations (and reporting on them) comes with financial consequences.
