The private equity fund Karmijn Kapitaal has joined forces with Tover, known for its care product the Tovertafel
(Magic Table), with the aim to expand internationally.
Tover is committed to improving the quality of life of people with cognitive challenges, such as dementia. The company observes a growing need for the innovative Tovertafel, a product that has a positive impact on both residents and clients and the care staff. What makes the Tovertafel unique is that the effect of the games is constantly researched and its impact is scientifically proven. This way, care innovation helps care staff deliver high-quality care.
The Tovertafel was recently recognized by USA Today and CES as one of the most promising innovations for 2022. Meanwhile, the Tovertafel has become a household name in more than 5,000 care institutions in 16 countries.
With the support of private equity fund Karmijn Kapitaal, Tover wants to accommodate the growing demand for care by expanding further to new markets, including the US. This external investment helps the company identify and resolve the challenges in the global care sector.
According to Cilian Jansen Verplanke, partner at Karmijn, the diverse team of Tover has one thing in common: their love for the target group and their wish to contribute to its quality of life. “This passion and their great ambition has convinced us that Tover will also become a success overseas.”
In this transaction, Jan-Berend Möller, Lukas Suijkerbuijk and Manouk van Riele of Kennedy Van der Laan took care of the legal guidance of Karmijn Kapitaal.
