Quirine Tjeenk Willink has joined Kennedy Van der Laan as a Board member.
Quirine has been a partner in Administrative Law at the firm’s Amsterdam office since 2018 and specialises in telecoms, energy and enforcement law. She leads the Energy Transition arm within Kennedy Van der Laan, which aims to contribute to a more sustainable Netherlands through legal services.
Quirine succeeds Chris Nekeman. She joins the Executive Board alongside existing members CEO Jan-Willem Siebers and Petra Oskam, partner in Insurance and Liability Law. Since 2018, Kennedy Van der Laan has operated under a CEO model, in which the Board works with the Executive Committee to take strategic decisions.
As a Board member, Chris left an important mark on Kennedy Van der Laan's strategic development and professionalisation. Jan-Willem Siebers: “Chris has done an outstanding job of further embedding our unique DNA — where quality, cooperation, social commitment and a focus on people and society are central — even more strongly in everything we do and stand for. We are very grateful to Chris for his commitment and managerial skill which made a big impact in bringing people and ideas together.”
With Quirine's appointment, the female perspective now forms the majority on the Board. “It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I take on the role of Board member, dedicated to upholding what Kennedy Van der Laan has always stood for: legal services of the highest level with a clear social commitment,” says Quirine. “We are living in a time that will undoubtedly present challenges for our clients — and for our firm. We will have to turn those challenges into opportunities. I look forward to being able to actively contribute to this now as part of the Board.”
