Ruud Schepers
Profile
Employment law and history are Ruud’s passions. Whether he is pleading in court or walking the beaches of Normandy, he is always well-prepared and full of energy and conviction, a real go-getter. You can ask Ruud questions about both individual and collective dismissal law. He also keeps a close eye on current events. Ruud has specific knowledge and experience in the field of dismissal law, (collective) changes to employment conditions (such as a lease policy), the distinction between employees and self-employed persons, and cases in which sexual harassment plays a role. Ruud litigates regularly on these topics.
You can often find Ruud in employment-law journals, at (guest) lectures and webinars and at conferences. Ruud also likes to think out of the box, for example by making (animation) videos or automating employment or termination agreements. His background in IT helps him to do this.
Ruud is chairman of the Young Employment Lawyers Association. This is a flourishing association where young Dutch employment lawyers exchange knowledge and get to know each other.
Furthermore, Ruud tries to leave the world a little bit better than he found it. As a board member of the Foundation for Care after Work in Corona Care (Stichting Zorg na Werk in Coronazorg), he supports care providers (and their surviving dependants) who have been affected by COVID-19. In the years 2020-2022, this Foundation supported nearly 200 care providers (or their surviving dependants) who ended up in the ICU or died of COVID. Finally, Ruud is a partner of the National Think Tank Foundation Stichting de Nationale DenkTank on behalf of Kennedy Van der Laan, where he contributes with his legal knowledge and skills to solving problems in society.
