Kennedy Van der Laan assists Savedo with its launch in the Netherlands
On 19 April, Savedo (www.savedo.nl) successfully launched its online-platform for savings deposits in the Netherlands.
Savedo, a FinTech venture originating from Berlin, offers attractive savings products to private customers in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. Its online banking functionalities allows customers to manage their bank accounts across multiple banks, at the same time guaranteeing highest safety and quality standards. Savedo’s online platform also offers their foreign bank partners to enter new European markets and gain access to new customer segments and sources of funding.
Joris van Horzen, associate partner, stated: “Unlike other competitors, Savedo has obtained a license from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) as an intermediary in savings products. Since Savedo was completely transparent about its business model and internal policies, obtaining a license was relatively easy. As a client, Savedo perfectly matches our FinTech focus and we are looking forward to our future cooperation.”
Eelco Habets, Savedo’s country manager for the Netherlands, stated: "We have successfully worked together with the Kennedy Van der Laan team of lawyers. Without their practical, hands-on approach and adequate legal support we would not have been able to launch in the Netherlands as rapidly and in such lean manner as we have done."
The launch of Savedo in the Netherlands has been picked up by several Dutch media. Read more (in Dutch).
