Friday, 15 March | 17:00 - 19:00
The artist duo 44 flavours will exhibit their work in the Netherlands for the first time. The art of 44flavours is direct and intuitive. They use strong colours to create a pop art painting mix of spatial innuendo, Op art, figuration and symbols. Especially for our office, the duo has designed a new mural of no less than 9m x 3m, in and around which paintings, drawings and tuffed works are incorporated and shown.
On Friday, 15 March 2024 from 17:00 to 19:00, we cordially invite you to attend the public viewing of the exhibition 'Better Together' of 44 FLAVOURS. Save this date for a very special public viewing you don't want to miss.
Berlin Artist Duo
The artist duo 44flavours Sebastian Bagge and Julio Rölle from Berlin have been working together since 2003. Their artistic activities include painting, ceramics, sculptures, prints and objects. The painted object can be a piece of cardboard, stone, wood, a vase from a flea market or any wall standing somewhere in the world.
44flavours work closely together as graphic designers and artists. They are definitely rooted in graffiti, which is not only visible in style and technique but also in their light-hearted approach, their unshakeable DIY-attitude as well as their ability to improvise and turn every piece of paper, board, wood or fabric into a piece of art. Analogue is the motto: they saw and cut, paint and spray: Julio and Sebastian are living the dialogue. Not just the dialogue between each other but also a lived commune with all the signs and forms of the visual culture that surrounds them and therefore shapes them. Their work is an example of how to incorporate historic references with a playful touch while integrating actual and global visual phenomena respectfully.
The collection: 'Better Together'
From 15 March to mid-June, existing and new works of 44flavours will be on display. Paintings, ceramics, sculptures, prints and objects are all there. Besides, they have created a colourful mural especially for Kennedy Van der Laan. Their work is an example of how to incorporate historic references with a playful touch while integrating actual and global visual phenomena respectfully.
The mural will consist of several coloured areas with abstract and daily objects and shapes, in which optical perspectives are included. Drawings, paintings and tuffed tapestries will be hung and incorporated in the mural. Different worlds unfold and connect the whole in a joyous, playful and surprising way; you can keep looking at this mural.
Please, drop by on 15 March!
