Chambers and Partners Europe Rankings 2017

Chambers and Partners has Chamberspublished its rankings for 2017. On the basis of annual extensive research on the market and among clients, Chambers and Partners compiles a list of lawyers’ teams per area of law.

Intellectual Property - Band 3

Alfred Meijboom is particularly recognised for his expertise in relation to the IT industry, especially regarding trade mark, licensing and domain name issues. He recently represented Cofra Holding in a domain name claim dispute.

Maarten Schut has particularly strong knowledge of brand protection and counterfeit matters in the retail sector, and also works on technology and life science trade mark issues. Clients “very much appreciate his skill and legal approach.”

Corporate and M&A - Band 5

Louis Bouchez assists foreign clients with inbound investments in the technology sector, and is also active on healthcare M&A transactions. Foreign Desks

Frans-Jozef Crousen leads the firm’s German desk. The team consists of six fluent German-speakers who advise German clients on corporate transactions and investments into the Netherlands.

Dispute Resolution - Austria

Christoph Jeloschek of Kennedy Van der Laan is based in Amsterdam and heads the firm’s German-speaking desk. He has studied law in Austria and the Netherlands and now mostly acts on IT-related litigation, including cross-border cases.

Dispute Resolution - Germany

Fluent in English and Dutch in addition to his native German, Amsterdam-based partner Christoph Jeloschek of Kennedy Van der Laan acts for German clients on post-M&A litigation. He focuses on the IT sector and regularly advises clients on product liability and long-term contracts.

Dispute Resolution - Netherlands

Christoph Jeloschek of Kennedy Van der Laan is dual-qualified in Dutch and Austrian law and has extensive experience assisting German clients with commercial litigation cases. He has particular expertise in IT litigation.

The Legal 500 has published its rankings for 2016. On the basis of annual extensive research on the market and among clients, The Legal 500 compiles a list of lawyers’ teams per area of law.

Kennedy Van der Laan proudly presents the results it has achieved. In ‘Information Technology’, ‘Mediation’ and ‘Media and Entertainment’ we have been ranked once again at the highest level as ‘first tier firm’. Important new rankings under ‘Commercial Lending’ are Joris van Horzen and Jan Broekhuizen. We also welcome Fenna van Dijk, who has been ranked for both Healthcare and Corporate and M&A. Another newcomer Reindert van der Zaal has been ranked ‘brilliant senior associate’.

Information Technology - Tier 1

Joost Linnemann heads up the department at Kennedy Van der Laan; he successfully defended Alert Life Sciences Computing against two customers’ claims that Alert failed to develop and implement software. The team is praised for its responsiveness, professionalism and value for money.

Kennedy Van der Laan advised Prinses Máxima Centre for Child Oncology on the zoning, procurement and construction aspects of its new €100m building. The team is led by Richard-Jan Roks; he acted for Alrov Group in arbitral proceedings with the constructor of the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam.
