It is not always necessary that a conflict leads to legal proceedings. In some conflicts mediation may be the appropriate way to arrive at a solution. Mediation is a form of conflict resolution in which an independent neutral third party – the mediator – who takes each party’s interest into account, helps parties find a solution to the conflict that is the best option for all parties. Mediation can be of great value in situations in which the parties have to go on with each other after the conflict. Through mediation a conflict can be resolved behind the screens, making it unnecessary to go to court.

Our mediators

Eva Knipschild is an MfN-registered mediator in the field of employment and co-governance law. In recent years, she has handled various mediations, including individual and collective employment-law issues and disputes in the field of co-governance. Eva is also a lecturer of the course Specialization in Employment Mediation and co-author of the book Arbeidsrecht en mediation (Employment Law and Mediation). Simon van IJsendoorn is mediator in the field of employment and co-governance law. With his knowledge as a mediator he regularly assists employers and employees in mediations. Simon is co-author of the book Arbeidsrecht en mediation (Employment Law and Mediation).

Frits van der Woude and Chris van Dijk are mediators working in the field of insurance and liability law. Chris, who is also a judge and deputy judge in the Court of Appeal, focuses especially on material damages and injuries. Frits, who has worked in the insurances sector for 20 years, focuses mostly on financial losses and laws and regulations in this sector. Both attorneys are very familiar with insurance law and guiding disputes between insurance brokers, insurers, insured, and authorized underwriting agents as market parties in the insurance sector.
