De praktijk van Ester omvat alle aspecten van het arbeidsrecht. Ester is daarbij gespecialiseerd in de arbeidsrechtelijke vraagstukken omtrent privacy en data protection en de implementatie van de GDPR in Nederland. Daaronder valt ook onderzoek naar en advisering over #metoo situaties en de arbeidsrechtelijke gevolgen daarvan. Daarnaast adviseert ze zowel werkgevers als ondernemingsraden over de Wet op de Ondernemingsraden en begeleidt zij advies- en instemmingstrajecten en procedeert zij over medezeggenschapszaken bij de Ondernemingskamer.
Ester is lid van de Vereniging voor Medezeggenschapsprofessionals, de Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Amsterdam (VAAA) en de Vereniging voor Arbeidsrecht (VvA) en maakt onderdeel uit van de werkgroep Medezeggenschapsrecht van de VvA en de Klankbordgroep Medezeggenschap van de Sociaal Economische Raad (SER). Daarnaast is Ester vaste gastdocent bij de master Arbeidsrecht aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en schrijft zij voor de tijdschriften OR Rendement en OR Magazine.
