De praktijk van Chris omvat alle aspecten van het arbeidsrecht, waaronder veel collectief arbeidsrecht en medezeggenschapsrecht . Zo is hij regelmatig betrokken bij harmonisatie of het wijzigen van arbeidsvoorwaarden en begeleidt hij advies- of instemmingstrajecten en onderhandelingen met de vakbonden. Hij ondersteunt zowel bestuur als ondernemingsraden door het geven van advies en in juridische procedures en procedeert over medezeggenschapszaken bij de kantonrechter en Ondernemingskamer. Hij treedt ook op voor rechters en officieren van justitie in rechtspositionele aangelegenheden.
Chris is bestuurslid van de Vereniging voor Arbeidsrecht (VvA) en lid van de werkgroep Medezeggenschap van de VvA. Voorts annoteert Chris medezeggenschapsrechtelijke uitspraken voor het arbeidsrechtelijk juridisch tijdschrift JAR en doceert hij op regelmatige basis, waaronder bij Post Academische Opleidingen (PAO) van de Universiteit van Leiden en de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Tevens is Chris lid van de specialisatie Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Nederland (VAAN).
Chris is hoofd van de praktijkgroep arbeids- en medezeggenschapsrecht. Chris is voorts lid van het dagelijks bestuur van Kennedy Van der Laan.
