As of 1 January 2018 Kennedy Van der Laan has appointed attorney Petra Oskam as a partner. Attorneys Sophie van Loon and Thijs Ridder have been appointed counsel.
Petra Oskam is a member of the Insurance & Liability team. Chris van Dijk, partner of this team: “Petra is an excellent and fast service provider and above all a fine person. We are therefore very pleased that she has accepted our offer to become a partner. We are confident that by adding Petra to our team of partners, we can further expand the Insurance & Liability practice.”
Petra started working with Kennedy Van der Laan in 2005 and specializes in personal injury, liability and insurance cases. She is a board member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers LSA. She frequently conducts legal proceedings, for instance in subproceedings. Petra completed the postgraduate LSA/Grotius Personal Injury specialization course.
Sophie van Loon has been a member of the IP and Media team of Kennedy Van der Laan since 2008. Her practice focuses on media and tech companies, with an emphasis on copyright and technology protection. She has wide experience in complex proceedings. Sophie is also active in the academic world: she obtained a doctorate from Radboud University with a dissertation on IP and competition and publishes and lectures regularly in her areas of expertise.
Thijs Ridder has been working in the Employment Law team of Kennedy Van der Laan since 2007. In his practice, Thijs offers litigation, negotiation and advice on diverse employment-law issues, such as disputes on dismissals, non-competition clauses and reorganizations. Thijs has been intensively involved (including internally) in all aspects of various large and medium-sized reorganizations of national and international companies.
