Laura is a senior associate in the Privacy group of Kennedy Van der Laan. She specializes in European and Dutch (e)privacy and data protection law and advises on, among other things, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, and national regulations.
Laura has great experience in coordinating and performing GDPR compliance projects, and very regularly performs large Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) in this context for organizations in diverse sectors. She is known for her excellent knowledge of the law, which is applied pragmatically in her advice to clients.
Laura is a well-known public speaker and lecturer in the field of privacy and data protection law. For example, she was invited to do a session at the international IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress in Brussels on the relationship between Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and the GDPR, and in 2023 she is a guest lecturer at Leiden University in connection with the postgraduate VPR-A course in privacy and data protection law.
Besides advising, Laura also litigates from time to time.
Laura is a member of the Privacy Law Association for Attorneys (Vereniging Privacy Recht Advocaten, “VPR-A”) and the Privacy Law Association (Vereniging Privacy Recht, “VPR”).
